tsunami shipwreck
no warning
like the dawn her look falls on me
tsunami shipwreck
the mirror held
the mirror held up
before the closing eyes
catches the closing moments of a dream
small mirror
small mirror
sidelong glancing
how will the evening end
against a white sky
against a white sky
rainbows all colours of blue
changes tomorrow
the sky cracks
dreams remembered
a cloud drifts across her eyes
the sky thunder cracks
The haar
The haar eased in
like a metaphor;
the sun fought briefly
but not enough.
The couple on the beachside bench
stood
and walked away
from each other.
He ran to catch
he ran to catch his dreams.
seafront promenades;
dead volcanoes;
abandoned railway tunnels.
and though his dreams stayed always
a step beyond him
the sun
the rain
the wind
and the snow
took him safely
to another world
The river Anxia
The river Anxia overflowed in my head
in the dark last night
flooding the plains of poppies and sunflowers.
It will drain away, I know.
The earth is well watered.
