That cold morning he

Sometimes the feeling starts then swells for weeks, sometimes it is the spark in an eye. But how long the glow lasts doesn’t depend on how long it has grown; a glance can last forever.

That cold morning he caught her glance and, though he never saw her again, he kept the thorn of fire in his heart forever.
